Kadens swimming class

Kaden just finished two weeks of swimming lessons. He did so well. In the beginning of the two weeks he was so afraid to jump in the water..he was jumping in the water by the end of the first day. The last day Dan was able to swim with him for open swim, and he was all over the pool. It was well worth the lessons. They taught him so very much and now he has a confidence while in the pool swimming. Good job Kaden!!!!

A proud day....

a proud day in our household....Fat Louie caught a mouse when he was allowed outside for a few minutes...and Oliver was chasing a hanger...caught it...and got it caught around his neck...he is sooooo silly....love the animals..or should i say...my babies....

The animals....

i should probably talk about the two animals that pretty much rule the house...our cat (really Whitneys) is Fat Louie...he isnt really fat, but its a cool name that his mama named him..he gets a lot of spankings because he likes to bolt out the door and jump on the counters and hunt around for left overs...he jumps immediately when you snap your fingers because he knows he is in big trouble. He is a good cat though, he loves to lay on you when you don't feel good or when your trying to relax on the couch. Fat Louie will be around for awhile..hes only three.

The spoiled brat in the house who knows he runs the house and thinks that he is human is Oliver Geppheto Churchill. This dog is so spoiled that the kids get jealous. He always gets something when we go to the store, he just has to look at you with those big brown eyes to get his way, he cuddles with you whenever you need some love, and he runs the house!!!
Everytime Dan leaves the house, Oliver jumps in the car to go for a ride. That is his and daddys time together. They love to take car rides together. Oliver knows just the right buttons to push on everyone to get his way..Yep...he is the KING!!!

Summer Fun!!!

Kaden and his dad have been jumping a lot on the trampoline. They have been "working out" on the trampoline. They sure are cute.

Too Cool......
a pitch for my brother-in-law; Brian....he loves to make these bird holders/flower holders...our dog Oliver loves to sit under the flowers and wait for the birds to fly in.

our beautifully freshly mowed lawn and my very small, but fun garden...it is nothing like my brother-in-laws garden...it has cucumbers; tomatoes, pumpkins, squash, green peppers, carrots (for Kaden) and cantaloupe. It is just newly planted...i'll do a comparison later in the summer to see the difference. It is a lot of fun, and the kids love it.

Summer is so much fun...lots to do and little time to do it!

Fathers Day 2008

Just wanted to give a shout out to one of the most greatest fathers around. My husband, Dan, is so good with the kids. He passes up on the housework, but when it comes to the kids...he never misses a chance to be doing something with them. On his days off from work, he will be outside with them all day.

One reason he is so special is because he has accepted my kids as his own. He treats them the same way he treats his son and makes sure that they follow rules and keeps me in line when they walk all over me (which they do quite often). He is always on the lookout to make sure that the kids have the best opportunity around.

Thanks for being so great! I love you!

Two birthday celebrations!!!!

This past weekend our family celebrated two very important and special birthdays....my father had his 80th birthday party...we celebrated with all the family and some good home cooking from the chef of all chefs my husband on the grill. We had a very special day and it was enjoyable to sit with my dad on the swing outside and just talk and talk....I love my dad so much and with all the things that have been happening with him I am glad to have been able to spend some quality time with him this past weekend. I will never forget this special birthday and the special talk that we had out on the swing. Happy Birthday Daddy!!
In the picture is my father, Jim; my kids Brittany, Whitney and Kaden; and my niece Hanna and nephew Zach. What a group of trouble makers!!!!

The other birthday we celebrated this weekend was my sister-in-law Amy (Churchill) Cribley. She hit the BIG 40!!!! It was a surprise party for her. She was very surprised and it was nice to meet some of her friends and see the immediate Churchill family. Here is a picture of (from left to right) Matts wife - Nancy Churchill; the birthday girl - Amy (Churchill) Cribley; Brians wife - Amy Churchill; and of course; Dans wife - ME!!!! Happy Birthday to Amy!!! Many many more to come! Love you.

Fifth grade graduation!!!

Well....she is finally a middle schooler...i just can't believe how quickly the kids grow. Whitney had fifth grade graduation last week. It was actually very heartwarming. The teachers all cried when they were talking about their class. They told something special about each of them. It was really neat. Whitney went to Orchard View last year, so this was her first year at Fruitport. During her first year she has enjoyed basketball, girls on the run, chicago trip, multiple after school activities that Fruitport puts on and lots of new experiences that she has just been overjoyed with. Whitney is soo very happy. She is so excited to go into middle school. Whitney is growing up quickly before my very eyes.

This is her fifth grade teacher Mrs. Brandow. Whitney really enjoyed her. She helped Whitney become familiar with Shettler and Fruitport Schools. Whitney said on her first day of school that Mrs. Brandow informed everyone that she was new and that everyone introduced themselves and made her feel right at home. Mrs. Brandow helped Whitney so much with school. Whitney pulled out with only two B's and the rest all A's this year and most of the credit is her wonderful teacher.

Here are a couple of her friends. These were the only two that I could get ahold of to take a picture of....the rest were running from the camera. Congratulations Whitney!!!!!

The Little Man

This is Kaden...although he is not my "true" son, he is my little sweetheart. I just love him like he was my own. Kaden and I have a very special step-mom/step-son relationship. We love to play legos, work in the yard, play outdoor sports, play board games and just hang out together. Kaden is very special to me. I love him very much.

This is some pictures from memorial day. As you see, in the background of the picture to the top, there is my daughter Whitney and her friend Brittany who pretty much were too cool to hang with mom and Dan at the carnival.
Here we see Kaden petting a snake. That kid has absolutely no fear. He is unbelieveable.

Here he is riding down the slide. I think that he rode down that slide about 60 times. He just loved it. He would find all sorts of friends to race with, or just race himself. He loved it.

Here Kaden is riding the camel at the John Ball Park Zoo. We went there on the very last field trip of PreK. We had so much fun from petting the sting rays, to riding the camel, to roaring at the tigers, to dancing with the monkeys, to our favorite...eating pizza. He loves to eat pizza. While we were eating, his friends and him ran around and played while the moms got some "adult" time...but not for too long, as the kids were raring to go.

Thank you Kaden for letting me go to the zoo with you and thank you to God for putting Kaden and his father into my life. They are the best thing next to my kids that has ever happened to me. I love both of the boys very much and will enjoy the life God has blessed me with until im old and grey. (ok, i'm already grey, but how about old)
