Chicago!!!

Well, this is my girl Whitney. Two days ago on May 7th, we went to Chicago with her fifth grade class at school (Shettler Elementary). We had so much fun. We woke up at 5:30 am and we were at the school loading the buses at 6:45am. Then, our first stop was the Museum of Science and Industry. That was pretty cool. Our favorite there was the huge dollhouse that was different themes of fairytales. Whit and I really enjoyed that. It was very interesting for Whit as I explained the babies on the wall from fertilization to birth. It was actually really neat to see the babies.

We next went to Shedds Aquarium. That was pretty cool. We watched an interesting dolphin show on how they train the dolphins. Then, we watched whales, penguins, lots of different fish and most of all...the gift shop.

What was really neat was the fact that the whole group had on these yellow shirts that told where we were from and that we were all a group..we thought we were pretty awesome; until we saw more groups just like us...it was funny because all the kids were like "they stole our idea".

After the aquarium we went to the middle of the city and went on the Wendella boat cruise. That was the best part of the day. We went straight down the river, had a tour guide and learned a lot of interesting things. We saw the new trump tower where we can purchase a condo for a mere 9.5 million dollars (i put a deposit down), and we also saw the place where Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as the mayor of Chicago and eventually the President of the United States. It was really interesting and the kids had a great time.

To end the day, we went and had some down to earth yummy Chicago style pizza at Connies. The kids were all freaking out about how thick the crust was but once they bit into it, they loved it. All in all, it was a great day. I am so glad that i was able to experience this with my daughter. We will both remember it forever. I love you Whitney and thank you for letting me go with you..love mom.
